Unplug the power cord and backup battery from your alarm system. Make sure there is absolutely no power going to your alarm panel.
Take out any wires that are connected in the Zone 1 terminal and the PGM 1 terminal.
Touch one end of a small piece of wire to the Zone 1 terminal and the other end to the PGM 1 terminal in order to create a short. Only leave the wire touching for a second or two.
Plug the power back into the alarm system after you have removed the wire that was used to short the system. Check to see if the Zone Light 1 lights up signifying that the default has completed.
Remove the power to the system and plug the original wires back into the Zone 1 and PGM 1 terminals.
Reconnect the power and the backup battery to your system. Your system will now power back up with factory default settings.
Enter installer programming mode by typing in "*8" and your installer code. The program light will blink to show you are in programming mode and the armed light will stay on to show it is waiting for a section code to be entered.
Enter the code "999" on the keypad and then enter it a second time. This is the code used to initiate a factory default. It is entered twice as a precaution.
Wait for the system to execute the default and reset. Once the keypad is ready to accept another section code, the default has finished and your system has returned to factory defaults.
