Instructions

    • 1

Choose the mounting locations for the Moose Z1100 control panel, keypad and alarm sensors. Run the appropriate wires from the keypad and sensor locations to the control panel location, drilling through walls, floors and doorjambs as necessary with the proper drill bits. Mark the control-panel end of each wire as they are installed with a piece of masking tape and a felt-tip pen to make identification easier when programming the panel. Secure the wires with wire staples and a hammer where necessary.

    • 2

Strip 1/4 inch of insulation from the sensor end of each wire and from the wire to the keypad. Use the soldering iron and solder to connect one of the included 2200-Ohm resistors to one of the alarm-loop wires going to each sensor. Slide the bare wire ends into the sensor terminals and tighten the terminal screws with a screwdriver. Consult the manufacturer's instructions for the sensors to ensure proper wiring and installation. Mount the sensors in the desired locations using the included hardware.

    • 3

Slide the bare ends of the keypad wires into the appropriate terminals and tighten the terminal screws with a screwdriver. Mount the keypad with the included hardware.

    • 4

Mount the control panel box in the desired location with the included hardware. Snap the control panel onto the mounting pins inside the box. Remove a knockout from the box and run the wires into the box. Cut the wires to the appropriate length and strip 1/4 inch of insulation from the ends.

    • 5

Connect one of the alarm-loop wires from each sensor to the desired "zone" terminal (#1 through #12) on the control panel for that sensor. Connect the other alarm-loop wire from each sensor to the "common" terminal for that zone. Tighten the terminal screws with a screwdriver. Connect any power wires from the sensors to the auxiliary power terminals (#28 through #31) and tighten the terminal screws.

    • 6

Connect the four wires from the keypad to the four corresponding keypad terminals (#13 through #16) on the control panel. Connect a 14-gauge wire to terminal #19. Tighten the terminal screws. Run the wire from terminal #19 to a grounding rod or other direct-earth ground.

    • 7

Connect the red battery lead from the control panel to the positive (+) terminal on the included battery. Connect the black battery lead to the negative (-) terminal. Run the wires from the included power transformer into the panel box and strip 1/4 inch of insulation from the wires. Slide the bare ends of the wires under terminals #17 and #18. Tighten the terminal screws. Plug the power transformer into a non-switched outlet. Slide the power switch on the panel to the "On" position.

Program the panel according to the manufacturer's instructions. Test the alarm and sensors for proper operation. Check all connections and programming if the system fails to operate correctly.
