An Ademco Vista alarm system can help protect your family and property from unwanted intrusions. The Vista panel usually receives its power from a transformer plugged into a common household outlet. However, in the event of a power failure, the Vista panel has a rechargeable battery to keep the system running and your home protected. From time to time, the battery will need to be replaced with another of equal voltage and amperage.

  Open the alarm-panel box, using the included key if necessary.

  Slide the power switch on the alarm panel to the "Off" position.

  Pull the red positive (+) wire off the positive battery terminal. Pull the black negative (-) wire off the negative battery terminal. Remove the old battery from the panel box and discard or recycle in accordance with local guidelines.

  Set the new rechargeable battery in the panel box. Connect the black wire to the negative battery terminal. Connect the red wire to the positive battery terminal. Slide both connectors firmly onto the battery terminals.

  Slide the power switch on the panel to the "On" position. Test the panel and battery according to the manufacturer's instructions. Check all connections if any problems are detected.
