How do I Reset a Simon Alarm Sysyem?

A security system monitors for burglary, carbon monoxide, fire and other emergencies. A malfunctioning security system affects peace of mind and is a safety hazard, so when your security system fails to work as it should, you may need to reset the system to the factory settings. The software inside the system occasionally needs a reboot just as any computer-controlled device would need.

     Open the alarm system control panel cover and press 1.

     Unplug the transformer from the power outlet and remove the battery.

   • 3

     Press and hold the "Cancel," "Clock Set" and "Minutes" buttons.

   • 4

     Reconnect the battery while holding down the buttons. When the screen displays a system "OK" message, release the buttons.

   • 5

     Plug the transformer back into the outlet.
