Examine the batteries for the Fire-Lite alarm. Unscrew the battery case on the back of the Fire-Lite alarm with the Phillips screwdriver. The batteries should not be damaged or expired.
Remove extra Fire-Lite alarms from the same room. Multiple alarms in one room can cause system malfunctions. Remove the Fire-Lite alarm by unscrewing it from its mounting bracket.
Push the disable and reset switches down to activate the switches. The disable and reset switches are on the left side of the Fire-Lite alarm. Grasp each switch in turn and push it down. This action should cause LED lights to flash and activate the smoke alarm. If the alarm fails to activate, replace the batteries. If the alarm still won't work, replace it.
