How to Stream Audio Only on an Axis Camera

Axis network cameras enable video to be transmitted from one location to anywhere a network accessing the Internet is located. You can disable the video-streaming capability of an Axis IP (Internet Protocol) capable video camera so that only the audio will be transmitted. The procedure is straightforward and will not damage the Axis network camera, allowing for video streaming to be resumed at any time you choose.

Rotate the focus ring at the front of the Axis counterclockwise to blur the focus. Place a lens cap over the Axis network camera. The lack of light will now inhibit the video stream being transmitted -- effectively rendering the video stream blank. Tape the lens cap to the camera with duct tape to further remove any stray light from reaching the lens.
