Mounting Instructions for Silent Knight FACP

Having a fire alarm system in your home or office building can prevent damage to the structure in case of a fire and help get everyone out safely. The Silent Knight company makes a line of fire alarms that come with a FACP, or fire alarm control panel, that will be installed with the system. Mounting the control panel case inside of your walls takes a few minutes to complete.

Choose a location to mount the control panel. This should be a location that is enclosed and has access to main wire drops. The control panel should not be mounted in an area that has a lot of moisture or condensation, or near equipment that produces moisture, condensation or heat. An ideal location would be between two wall joists in the center of the building or home.

Place the control panel in the location that you wish to mount it. The cabinet will have holes on the inside, on the back and the sides, allowing you to mount it to a surface or between wall joists. Use the pencil to mark the holes and then set the cabinet down. Use the power drill to make holes the approximate size of the holes in the control panel cabinet.

Place the control panel cabinet back into the location where you want to mount it. Use the drill to secure the cabinet in place with the mounting screws by drilling them through the holes in the cabinet and the surface.

Connect a power wire to the AC connection at the top-right corner of the box. If you are unfamiliar with electric wires and circuits, you may need to contact an electrician. If you decide to do this yourself, be sure to turn off the power at the circuit breaker before attempting to wire anything.
