Push the "*" key (located on the left side of the entry unit interface) before programming your system. If you start to program and the system produces a long beep, then cancel programming. The system will not allow programming to begin without you first pushing the star key. Programming will also be canceled if too much time passes between each button press.
Inspect the system wiring by the door if you hear noise or buzzing on the phone line. Wires may be pinched or damaged from the door hinge. If the wires are damaged or frayed, replace them to clear the line again.
Look at the by-pass switch (located at the top of the "By-Pass" switch interface) and confirm that it's not set to "By-Pass," if the phones in your home aren't ringing or receiving calls.
Push "*-3-4" as a first step to accessing the "Do Not Disturb" time zone settings, if calls aren't able to reach your home. Push in the master code when prompted. You will hear a beep. Push "0-*" to turn "Do Not Disturb" off. You will hear a beep to confirm your setting. Turn the "Do Not Disturb" feature back on by pushing "1" and the star key. If the "Do Not Disturb" function is set to "On," the system will block calls to your house during a specified time.
Push the "#" key (located on the left side of the entry unit interface) before entering the access code, if you're entering the code but it will not work. The entry code will be ignored unless "#" is pushed.
Push "*-7" on your telephone to begin turning the "Auto-Answer" feature on, if you're experiencing problems with your system not answering when you call it from a remote location. Auto-Answer must be turned on to allow entry remotely. Push "*-1-5" and enter the master code when prompted. You will hear a beep. Push "1-*" and listen for a beep. Auto-Answer has been enabled.
