How to Change the Honeywell Home Alarm Battery

Honeywell manufactures 13 different burglary alarm system kits and eight different burglary and fire alarm system kits for use in your home or business. If your home is broken into or there's a fire, the alarm will sound to warn you. The peace of mind that a home alarm system offers against burglary, fire and other disasters is incomparable. However, if your Honeywell alarm's battery dies, it can't offer you protection anymore. Changing the battery on your own will restore that protection and is simple to perform as well.

     Open the battery compartment on the bottom of the Honeywell alarm.

   • 2

     Disconnect the dead battery from the red and black wires that are plugged into it with a metal snap. Remove the metal snap to unplug them.

     Insert a new battery into the battery compartment and plug the metal snap into the top of the new battery. Place the red wire over the positive charge of the battery and the black wire over the negative charge on the battery, and snap them into place.

     Close the battery compartment.
