How to Activate a Brinks Security System

Brinks has been a respected brand in home security for decades. It changed the name of its home security brand to "Broadview" in late 2008 and was incorporated into the ADT shortly thereafter. While the Brinks company is no longer active in home security, there are numerous Brinks systems still in use and they are designed to be as simple as possible to use. Activating a Brinks security system can be accomplished with the push of a single button.

     Locate the control panel for the alarm system. It will usually be near the main entrance to the home so the home owner can deactivate it quickly upon coming home. The system may have multiple panels throughout the home depending on the system configuration but any of them should activate the system effectively.

     Look for the "On" button on the control panel. Many Brinks panels have it located in the upper-right corner.

     Press the "On" button to fully activate the system.
