How Do You Program an ADT Alarm Entry Code?

ADT Security Services is a provider of home security services and alarm systems. With an ADT home security system, you can ensure that someone is monitoring your house for burglaries and alarms, whether you are at home or away. When you turn your ADT alarm on or off, you enter a four-digit security code. For additional security, you may wish to occasionally change your security code to another number. Changing the entry code can be accomplished with a few button pushes.

  Enter the beginning sequence for your alarm system by pressing the relevant buttons. The beginning sequence depends upon your particular alarm system. In general, try entering *5 and then your master code or enter your master code and then press 8. The master code was given to you by ADT at the time of installation. If you don't know the initial sequence, check your specific system's owner's manual.

  Press the buttons that correspond to the security code you want to pick. For example, if you want 9876 as your security code, press each number of the code. The alarm will beep when you have entered the code.

  Turn on the alarm and enter your new security code as a test to turn it off.
