Measure the height and width of the speaker grill on the control panel. Purchase a piece of sound-deadening material as close to the measurements as possible. Cut the sound-deadening material to the measurements, using a scissors or the blade of a utility knife, depending on the toughness of the backing. Place the cut piece of sound-deadening material over the speaker grill. Tape the material to the grill with strips of duct tape. The beeping sound will now be muffled to the point where it can no longer be heard.
Locate the security module connected to the telephone. Unplug the modular plug from the telephone cable inserted into the module's socket labeled "Tel." Blow off the socket with compressed air and reinsert the plug. Repeat this with the telephone cord plugged into the module's "Line" labeled socket. Press the "Reset" button on the side or top of the module to reset the module's connection to the security system. This will cause the beeping sound to stop.
Enter the password on the control panel's keyboard so you can access the menus being presented on the LCD viewing panel. The password is the one you have programmed into the control panel. Select the "Options" menu from the list of choices, then select "Audio." Uncheck the "Audio speaker" checkbox to disable the built-in speaker from making any sounds. Return to the main menu. Rearm the control panel so it will again operate the security system.
