How to Reset Monitronics Security

A Monotronics-brand security system not only provides a local warning when an intruder enters the home, or a potential danger such as smoke inhalation appears imminent, but it also informs a security monitoring station. The station monitors the status of the system on a 24/7 real-time basis. You can reset the Monotronics system if it has sounded as a result of a false alarm or due to a temporary power outage. The procedure is straightforward and does not require any special tools.

Instructions

Enter your four-digit passcode into the Monotronics control panel keypad. Press "Enter." If an alarm has sounded and is still sounding, repeat the passcode so that the alarm goes off.

    • 2

Verify that all of the windows and doors that are wired to the Monotronics security system are closed. Press the "Door and Windows" button on the control panel once. If the green "arming" LED does not light up, press the button twice instead to illuminate the green "arming" LED.

Call the security center. The number should be with your Monotronics security system information. Provide them with proof of your identity. Inform them that you have reset the security system and that any notice at their end should be treated as a false alarm.
