Visonic Wireless Installation Help

Visonic manufactures two wireless property protection systems: PowerG and PowerMax. The PowerG system is a wireless intruder alarm. The PowerMax system provides whole house safeguards from intrusion, smoke, gas, carbon monoxide and floods.
  1. Preparation

    • The most important preparation step is a deployment plan for the system you are installing. Then, gather system components and mark in accordance with the plan. Next, connect temporary power to components needing programming and program as instructed in the manual.

    Mounting

    • Typically, you first remove the front cover and then use the back cover to mark drilling points for the back cover on the mounting surface. Drill holes, insert wall anchors and then attach with screws. Finally, remove any cable knockouts and cable clamps.

    Power Cable Routing

    • The manual includes wiring diagrams to properly wire the unit. Usually, plastic segments need to be removed and these are also indicated on a diagram. You can then insert the power cable, connect the power supply terminals and connect the telephone line cable.

    Optional GSM Module Mounting

    • Some units have a global system for mobile (GSM) communications module that needs to be connected to the unit. The GSM module takes a SIM card, the same as a mobile phone.
