# How to Create a Temporary User for an ADT Home Alarm
Your ADT home alarm system allows you to create a temporary ID code for your house cleaner, dog walker or baby sitter. Creating a temporary user ID allows you to grant access to your home on a temporary basis without providing your personal alarm code to others. Creating the temporary code only takes a few minutes and you can delete it at any time.

Enter your alarm code into your ADT alarm keypad and then press "Code" or "8." Your alarm code key should be a four-digit number.

Choose and enter a two-digit number to save as the new user's ID after you have pressed "Code."

Enter in a four-digit number that you want to give the temporary user to use as their code.

Enter your alarm code for a second time and then press "Code" again.

Allow the alarm system to register and wait for it to beep one time. The system will take about 3 seconds to register.
