Check to confirm that the system is ready before attempting to engage the alarm system. When the alarm is ready, the "Ready" light will be green. If the light is not green, the alarm is not ready for use. Close any open doors or windows and stop motion in areas that are using motion detectors. The green light should then come on.
Activate the alarm system by entering your access code on the keypad. If you have entered the correct code, the machine will sound fast beeps and the red "Armed" light will turn on.
Leave through the entry/exit door to engage the full alarm system. If you will not be leaving do not open the exit door. The system will then only turn on the perimeter area alarm system.
Enter the access code to turn the alarm system off after it has been armed. If you have been away, the keypad will beep for a short time after the door is opened to remind you to turn the system off. If you enter an incorrect access code, the system will sound one long beep to prompt you to try again. As soon as you enter the correct code, the red "Armed" light turns off and the keypad will stop beeping. If you do not enter a valid access code during this time period, the system will sound an alarm.
