How to Change the Battery on a GE Security Alarm

GE creates and develops consumer products from iPod accessories to home security alarms. The company is more than 100 years old, with licensee companies such as Jasco that manufacture GE products exclusively. GE security alarm products include wireless door and window alarms, motion sensors with keychain remotes, portable security systems and doorstop alarms. All wireless GE security alarms run on batteries, and most models have an indicator light that illuminates when the batteries need changing.

     Locate the battery compartment cover on the front or back of the alarm, depending on the unit. For the Magnetic Window Alarm, the compartment is on the front. For the Motion Sensor with Keypad, the compartment is on the back.

     Unscrew any screws and slide the battery cover off.

   • 3

     Remove the old batteries and insert new batteries, aligning them according to the polarity indicators.

     Slide the battery cover back on and replace any screws.
