Enter your pass code to disarm and stop the system any time the system is armed. The closed padlock icon will be displayed when the system is armed and the ADT system will sound a continuous tone as you enter the home from outside by opening the door. The tone will advise you that the alarm is armed and set. Enter the code within the period that the installer has set to avoid triggering the alarm. If the alarm is triggered, enter the code to stop it.
Bypassing zones will stop the ADT from arming certain areas. For example, use "Bypass" when you want free access to doors at the rear of the house, say to go pool-side, while keeping the front door and windows armed. Press "*" to enter the function menu, and then press "1"and your pass code. The display panel will say "Scroll to Bypass Zones." Enter the 2-digit code for the zone, for example the code for the back door. Then press "#" to go back to the ready state.
Stop the ADT performing its door entry and exit beeps by holding the "Chime" key for 2 seconds.
