How to Stop ADT

ADT alarms can include fire, panic, and intrusion detection. The system is controlled with a centrally located panel in the home and sensors provide information for the panel. Sensors can include smoke alarms, motion sensors and others. If the ADT alarm system has been triggered and the alarm sounds, the alarm can be stopped. In addition, if you want to, you can override the alarm system, including just parts of it, and stop the system from functioning.

Enter your pass code to disarm and stop the system any time the system is armed. The closed padlock icon will be displayed when the system is armed and the ADT system will sound a continuous tone as you enter the home from outside by opening the door. The tone will advise you that the alarm is armed and set. Enter the code within the period that the installer has set to avoid triggering the alarm. If the alarm is triggered, enter the code to stop it.

Press "*" to enter the function menu, and then press "1"and your pass code. The display panel will say "Scroll to Bypass Zones." Enter the 2-digit code for the zone, for example the code for the back door. Then press "#" to go back to the ready state.
