How to Update ADT

ADT alarm systems include remote system service functionality where the installer can remotely access the alarm system using what ADT calls DLS. DLS lets ADT update its equipment periodically using telephone ring detection by the alarm system. Information can be sent to ADT to update it and information can be retrieved. The installer can enter DLS through the phone line an unlimited number of times for six hours once DLS is active. When the six-hour window expires, the DLS needs to be activated again by you on the alarm control panel.

     Disarm the system by entering your pass code so that the closed padlock icon on the display panel is removed. Then enter "*" and "6" plus the master pass code.

     Press the arrow keys to scroll through to the "5" position and select "Enable DLS/Allow Remote System Service."

     Press "#" to exit. The ADT installer will be able to update the system.
