How to Install a Manual Honeywell Flex 410

Any building such as a school, hotel or hospital that has a built-in fire prevention system will need a controller in order to set and monitor that system, and the Honeywell Flex 410 is a fire-alarm control panel that can control both your sprinkler and alarm systems. In order to install this panel, you must first mount it to a wall, then connect the proper wires from your system to the terminals inside.

Instructions

Turn off the power to the room in which you are installing the Honeywell Flex 410 by flipping the circuit breaker to the "Off' position. Place the control panel in the location and position that you wish to install it, and use the power drill to insert the mounting screws through the four mounting holes at the corners of the unit.

Use a wire stripper to strip the ends of the positive and negative AC power wires in your electrical system. Insert the stripped ends of the wires into the terminals on the bottom left side of the unit and use the screwdriver to twist and tighten the terminals to hold the wires in place.

Use the wire stripper to strip the ends of the wires coming from the initiation zones of your fire alarm system. Insert the stripped wire ends into the terminals on the left side of the unit and tighten them with the screwdriver. If you are using "Class A" zones, use the five top terminals. If you are using "Class B" zones, use the ten terminals at the bottom of this section.

Connect the wires from the programmable relays, notification appliances and remote annucators to the the sections of terminals located on the right side of the control panel. The relays go in the top section, the appliances in the middle and the annucators at the bottom.

Connect telephone lines to any of the terminals located at the top of the control panel. If you are using a battery backup system, connect it to the power port located at the bottom right side of the panel. When all connections are made, place the cover over the panel.
