How to Remove the Battery on an Ademco Vista 20P

The Vista 20P by Ademco is a home alarm system with an internal battery. The battery powers the unit if the power to the unit is interrupted. A working battery is essential to keep the alarm system running properly. If "Bat" is showing on the display, the battery power is low. Remove the old battery from the unit to install a fresh one in its place.

Instructions

    • 1

      Enter the password into the keypad to disarm the Vista 20P system.

      Close the circuit breaker that powers the alarm system.

    • 3

      Remove the screws holding the control panel cover in place. Lift the cover off.

    • 4

      Unscrew the caps from the top of the battery. Unplug and remove the battery from its socket.
