How to Clear Ademco Vista 10 Low System Battery After Replacement

An alarm system must always be ready if an intruder attempts to enter your home. The control panel of the Ademco Vista 10 alarm system does not reset itself if a warning light states that the battery must be removed and replaced with a new one. You can manually reset (aka clear) the Vista 10 afterward to return it to its normal fully functioning state. No specialized equipment is needed.

  Make a sweep of your home to check that all the doors and windows that are alarmed are closed.

  Lift the lid on the Vista 10 alarm panel to expose the keys. If there is no cover on the panel, ignore this step.

  Enter your security code using the keypad. Follow this procedure by pressing the “Stay” button if you are going to stay home or the “Away” key if you are going to leave.

  Verify that the beeping that is now heard occurs three times. Check that the first line on the LCD display on the Vista 10 alarm panel reads “ARMED ***STAY***” and that the line beneath it reads “You May Exit Now.”

  Continue waiting if you are not going to leave until the text on the display is replaced by “STAY.” Leave within 30 seconds if you are not going to stay home as that is when the alarm system will become active.
