ADT is a subsidiary of Tyco, which has its base of operations in Princeton, New Jersey as well as corporate offices in Switzerland and Brazil. The company employs more than 20,000 workers and has sales offices in over 180 locations in America alone. ADT is the largest electronic security company in the world. It services more than six million customers in North America alone. The company was started as American District Telegraph in 1874, a company specializing in telegram delivery. It went into the security business as a burglar alarm company sometime after 1910.

    • Today’s ADT is a vast network of electronic security operations across the world. ADT offers products and services for its clients that fit each homeowner or business owner’s specific needs. ADT offers intruder detection, video surveillance, fire alarms, access control, and health monitoring and offers services curtailed to residential, commercial, small business and government needs.

    CTS Involvement

    • Namesakes Chris and Terry Sullivan started CTS Protective Services. These two entrepreneurs formed the company in 2003 after more than a decade of experience in the security industry. They partnered with ADT to become an authorized dealer of ADT’s products and services. In the beginning Chris Sullivan installed security systems and oversaw the day-to-day business in the one-office company located in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Soon they expanded and hired more help and moved the main office to Ft. Oglethorpe in nearby Georgia.

    CTS Reach

    • CTS is now the 10th largest authorized dealer of ADT products and services in North America. The reach of the company has expanded throughout much of the Southeast. The company has offices in Georgia, Kentucky, Tennessee, Indiana, South Carolina, Alabama and Florida.
