How to Mount a Mole Camera to a Ceiling

A Mole camera is a multi-use webcam that streams live video and clips to online sources. The camera can be positioned in multiple spots including the ceiling. Create a mount that you can use to hang the Mole camera through your ceiling securely. When you want to move the camera, you can easily remove the camera for a different position or location. The mount also works with the camera's tilt and pan movements.

Instructions

    • 1

Set the 8 inch wall lamp holder on a table. These products may be referred to as light socket holders, wall lamp holders or another name. Remove any extra parts that can be pulled out like the metal socket and extra casing for a bulb. Use a screwdriver or flathead screwdriver to remove the bracket pieces and metal light bulb connection.

    • 2

Cut off the extended plastic piece made to hold the light bulb. Discard the piece. Use very fine grit sandpaper to grind down any jagged edges.

    • 3

Measure the opening in the mount. The Mole camera is 4 inches wide. See if you need any extra space and mark the four-inch spot on the sides with a pencil.

    • 4

Make the hole opening just under 4 inches wide using a 1-inch drill bit on a power drill. Go slow and evenly in a clockwise direction. Remove any extra scraps that dropped off and discard them.

    • 5

Run sandpaper on the inner circle of the wall lamp holder to even out the edges. Feel the inside with your hand to see if it is smooth.

    • 6

Slide the base of the Mole camera into the bracket. Push it in far enough so it stays but not past the back plane of the mount.

    • 7

Check to see if the camera is secure in the hole. If is it a little loose, add duct tape to the back to secure the camera into position.

    • 8

Select the position that you want the camera to sit on the ceiling.

    • 9

Screw the mount into the ceiling using the two screw holes on the wall mount. Use the screws supplied with your wall lamp mount or light socket holder. Tighten the screws until it securely placed on the ceiling.
