# How to Change the Entry Delay on an FA148C
The FA148C security system, developed and distributed by First Alert, is an alarm system that connects to the various doors and windows of your house. Generally, these systems are programmed with an "entry delay," which allows you time to turn the alarm system off once you enter the home. However, if you are already in the home and have no need for the entry delay, you can change the setting by activating certain modes with the system's keypad.

Enter your four-digit security code into the FA148C keypad, then press the "7" key to set the system to "Instant" mode. This will remove the entry delay for any protected doors and windows, meaning the alarm will go off instantly if they are opened or tampered with.

Enter your four-digit security code into the FA148C keypad, then press the "4" key to set the system to "Maximum" mode. This will set the system to maximum readiness, eliminating the entry delay.

Enter your four-digit security code into the FA148C keypad, then press the "1" key to turn the system off. This will eliminate the entry delay, along with all other system readiness.
