How to Troubleshoot a DSC Speco Security System Siren

Press the controller access code into the DSC control panel if the siren goes off when a door is opened while in Away mode. The user access code is a four-digit code that is programmed when the DSC security system is installed.

Push and hold the “Away” keypad for two seconds and wait for the system to beep. Leave immediately and shut the door to arm the system.

Avoid setting off the siren if the system is armed and you need to leave by pushing the "Exit" keypad for two seconds. Leave within two minutes through the designated exit door and the system will rearm without sounding the siren.

Bypass certain alarm zones inside by disarming parts of the system so that the siren will not sound when a presence is detected. Push "*" to enter the menu and then "*" again until "Zone Bypass" appears on the display. Press "*" and then your access code. When the display shows "Zone Search<>Zone Name," enter the two-digit zone code and then "*" to confirm.

Listen to the sound of the siren if the Away mode was not accidentally triggered. A constant siren indicates a burglary or intrusion alarm and a pulsing siren indicates a fire siren.

Check all arming points in the home or business if the error sound occurs when attempting to arm the system. Press the "#" keypad and try to rearm the system again.

Push the "F" (Fire), "A" (Alarm) or "P" (Police) keypad for two seconds to force a siren and a call to the specified emergency personnel if you need assistance and the central siren is not sounding automatically.

Enter the access code if the siren is in error. Leave the house immediately and contact emergency services if you are not sure of the alarm source.
