Change or delete a code if the user's PIN is not working. Enter the master code on the keypad and then follow the instructions for your model to delete or reset the code. For example, you might key the master code, press the "8" key, enter the number to add or delete, and then press the star button.
Test the system if the display shows an error message. An error message may mean the security system has failed. Call Bulldog first to tell the company about the test. Set the system using a user code or the master. Open the door and allow the alarm to sound for 45 seconds. Contact Bulldog again to see if it registers the alarm.
Reset the circuit breaker if the system display shows "AC." This indicates the power to the unit is off. Open the circuit breaker panel and locate the switch for the security system. If it is sitting if the center, push it toward "On" to reset it.
Replace the battery if the display on the system shows low battery or if the keypad is beeping continuously. Follow the directions to replace the battery for your model or call the company for service. The battery is a backup for the AC system.
Press any button if the keypads starts to beep. This will turn off the beeping and give you a chance to investigate.
Push the star button on the keypad if the green light fails to show the system is armed. This will display any open zone on your system. A zone is an entry port such a door or window that is monitored by the security system. Locate the open port and close it even if it appears to be secure. A door that is not shut completely may still look closed.
