How to Install Security Camaras for a GE Box

Decide where you want to place the GE-compatible security camera. Mount the camera to the wall with wood screws and a Phillips screwdriver, or screw the connector at the top of a tripod into the mounting hole on the camera's bottom. Angle the camera toward the scene to be monitored, if mounted, or rotate the tripod to aim the camera's lens properly.

Plug the power cord connected to the power supply into the power socket on the camera. Plug the power cord's AC cable into a wall outlet.

Insert the end of the USB cable attached to the camera into one end of the USB extender. Insert the other end of the USB extender into a USB port on the computer. Turn the camera on. Set the camera to the "Playback" position.

Insert the included program disc into the disc drive. Accept the default settings and click "Next" as necessary to complete the installation. Quit the program after it tells you that it has completed installing itself. Restart the PC.

Click "Start." Select "Facility Commander Wnx Workstation" from the "All Applications" menu.

Select the "Person Form" link on the window that appears. Click the "Photo" tab. Click the "Search" link. Select the "Default" record from the choices presented on the window. Click on "Capture Image/Signature." Right-click the photo block on the screen. Choose "Select Input Device" from the list of choices presented on the screen.

Select "inPhoto Capture Twain" from the window that appears. Click the "OK" button at the bottom of the window. Click the "Capture Photo" button on the window.

Click the "Activate Application" button" on the "Activation" window when it appears. Follow the menu commands to activate the license so you can use the program. Let the "inPhoto Capture" program replace that of the "Activation" window before continuing. Quit the "inPhoto Capture" program after it starts.

Eject the program disc from the disc drive. Restart the PC.
