How to Install an Electrical Sauna Heater

Time spent in a sauna allows you to relax your muscles and reduce stress. If you’re installing your own sauna make absolutely sure that it conforms with your local building codes; it is strongly recommended that you have your heater installed by a licensed electrician. The sauna heater consists of three basic components: the heater, the control box, and the thermostat sensor bulb. Your unit should come with details concerning heater placement; the dimensions may vary slightly depending on the power of your unit.

      Determine where you would like your heater installed. There are specific distances concerning the walls, roof and floor and the sides of the heater to which you need to adhere for a safe installation. Use your screwdriver to attach the mounting rails to the walls in accordance to the required dimensions.

      Install the control box on the outside of the sauna and thermostat against the interior wall approximately 10 inches from the ceiling.

      Install the wiring as specified for your particular model. When you’ve completed the wiring, attach the wiring to your circuit breaker box. Make absolutely sure the power is switched off before attaching.

      Remove all plastic protective covering from the heater and place warning signs were appropriate.
