• Reverse osmosis filtration is likely to be the most expensive option, but it is very effective. This type of filter uses ultra-filtration technology that removes the usual chemicals as well as eliminating other hidden ingredients. Shower filters that use reverse osmosis will remove pesticides, heavy metals, viruses, bacteria and sediment from the water.
