The Best Quality Push Locks

Push locks are a type of lock commonly used on items with double sliding doors such as cabinets, doors, boxes, drawers, display cases and street furniture. With a push lock mechanism, the user pushes a button in to lock and uses a key to unlock. When the user pushes the button, a pin in the central barrel locks and prevents the door from moving laterally. The barrel is spring loaded and the pin unlocks. In general, look for locks made of solid brass that have an anti-drill protective mechanism.
  1. Fixed Radial Pin Tumbler

    • Radial pin tumblers have numerous pins at different lengths that are placed in a circular formation around the central barrel. The number of pins range from 7 to 10 depending on the style of the tumbler. The tumbler is unlocked with a tube-shaped key. These locks have a fixed combination and do not require a master key system. This allows the user extra security and prevents unauthorized key duplication.

    Changeable Radial Pin Tumbler

    • Changeable radial pin tumblers are similar to fixed tumblers. They use pins of different lengths in a circular formation to lock the barrel into place. Changeable tumbles have a changeable key combination. The user can change the key combination with a specific master key. This method allows the user to avoid the expense of purchasing new locks if the keys are lost.

    Disc Tumbler

    • Disc tumblers are comprised of a row of discs that have different profiles. The profiles must be aligned with a specific key in order to unlock. A five-disc tumbler lock can provide 200 different profile combinations. Disc tumblers are unlocked with a traditional flat key.

    Tri-Drive

    • Tri-drive push locks are designed to deter tampering and to provide easy access to an item. Tri-drive push locks employ a generic triangular drive key to unlock the mechanism. Tri-drive locks work well inside of homes to child-proof furniture with drawers or in businesses that want to deter quick access to certain items. The benefit for the user is that if the key is lost another one can be procured easily without purchasing a new lock.
