How to Make Your Own Rebound Driveway Marker

Rebound driveway markers are fiberglass rods with reflective tape used to mark the edges of a driveway or yard. These markers are beneficial for people with long, windy driveways with little lighting and mark the edge of the yard for plow trucks during snowstorms. If you wish to add reflective driveway markers to your yard but would rather not spend the money, you can create your own, using wooden posts and a couple of old CDs.

Things You'll Need

  • 4-by-4-by-48-inch wooden posts
  • Mallet

Instructions

    • 1

Place the wooden posts into the ground along the length of your driveway or other area where you wish to have reflective markers. Place the posts 2 to 3 feet from the edge of the driveway to allow sufficient room for vehicles without worry of hitting the posts. Use the mallet to hammer the posts into the ground.

    • 2

Hammer a single nail 4 inches from the top of each post. Hammer the nails halfway in, leaving a half inch protruding. The nail should be facing the drive and will be used to hang the reflective material.

Hang old, unused compact discs on the nails. The CDs will reflect the light from your vehicle at night, allowing the driver to view the driveway boundaries.
