How to Install a Knight Modular Rail Handguard

Installing the Knight modular rail handguard to your AR15 assault rifle allows you to attach accessories to your rifle. Your original AR15 has a plastic handguard that's not equipped to hold attachments. Once the Knight handguard is installed, you can attach accessories such as a scope, tactical light or bipod. The installation process takes mere minutes and doesn't require the use of any tools.

Instructions

    • 1

Leave the weapon fully assembled but ensure that it's unloaded.

    • 2

Pull and hold the delta ring back toward the buttstock. The delta ring is the circular ring mounted at the barrel end of the upper receiver.

    • 3

Remove the old handguard by popping it off the barrel. The handguard will separate into two parts. You may now release the delta ring and allow it to slide forward.

    • 4

Remove the front sight from the end of the barrel. Refer to your owner’s manual for brand-specific instructions on how to remove the front sight.

    • 5

Pull the delta ring back again, then slide the Knight modular rail handguard down the barrel all the way to the delta ring.

    • 6

Release the delta ring and allow it to move forward.

    • 7

Reinstall your front sight, according to your owner’s manual.
