Physical Specifications

• The Miller 51 weighs 32 lbs. and its maximum height is seven feet. Its diameter when fully extended is 70 inches, and its diameter at four feet is 40 inches. At five feet, the diameter is 50 inches, and its diameter is 60 inches at six feet. The legs and cap are made of aluminum and are silver in color; the chain is made of zinc plated steel and is also silver. The feet are made of aluminum and rubber, and the visible parts of the feet are silver as well.

Strength and Work Load

• This tripod is rated at a minimum tensile strength of 5000 lbs. per foot. The maximum working load according to US standards is 400 lbs, and according to the EN795 European standard it is 1100 lbs. The maximum materials load according to US standards is 1000 lbs.

Additional Features

• A center anchorage and side anchorage bolt are located on the cap that joins the three legs of the tripod to its head. The former is for fall protection and the latter is for lifting personnel or material. The legs have integrated push pins, and an independent leg locking system holds the legs securely in place. The safety chain is meant to prevent slippage, as are the serrated edges and rubber skid pads of the feet. Reflective tape is also included.
