How to Remove an Oil Tank in Massachusetts

Removing an underground heating oil tank in Massachusetts must be done according to state law. Those regulations are set by the state Department of Environmental Protection and Department of Fire Services and state any such removal must be done only by a licensed contractor. If your underground oil storage tank is older and in danger of leaking, it is best to have it removed and a new above-ground tank so you may avoid the expense of a replacement, cleanup and lost oil.
