Instructions

    • 1

Place the 2-inch edge of one cedar sheet against the face of another to form a right angle. The two sheets should form an L-shape.

    • 2

Attach the two boards with 4-inch nails. Hammer in one nail every 4 inches along the joint of the two boards; place the nails through the face of one board and into the 2-inch edge of the other.

    • 3

Place a third board at the other side of the right angle to form a U-shape. Make sure both 2-inch edges of the cedar sheets are placed on the face of the third board so that the wood box will be even.

    • 4

Attach the boards with 4-inch nails. Put the nails through the face of one board into the 2-inch edge of the other. Hammer in one nail every 4 inches.

    • 5

Add a fourth board to the U-shaped structure to close it off. Place the board so that its face lines up with the 2-inch edges of the other boards. Attach the fourth board with 4-inch nails.

    • 6

Place a fifth board on one of the open spaces to create a bottom for the wood box. Line up the edges of the board with the 2-inch edges of the box structure. Attach the board with 4-inch nails. Hammer in one nail every 4 inches along all four sides of the box.

    • 7

Attach two hinges at the open portion of the box. Place the hinges on one side of the box and attach them with 2-inch wood screws.

    • 8

Place the remaining cedar sheet along the hinges and attach the two-inch edge of the wood to the hinges. Use 2-inch wood screws to attach the cedar box lid to the box.
