Dewalt DWS7085 Installation

As one of the foremost leaders in the production of electric and battery-powered tools, Dewalt manufactures several models of miter saws. A miter saw is a saw designed to make intricate cross-cuts. Miter saws consist of a base and a swivel control arm that houses the blade. The Dewalt DWS7085 is a work light system that attaches to the top of your Dewalt miter saw's control arm. The light helps illuminate cutting areas and casts straight cutting shadow lines that you can use to help guide your blade by. Installation of the DWS7085 work light is an easy process that should only take about 15 minutes.
  1. Safety

    • Ensure that your Dewalt miter saw is unplugged. If it is not, unplug it.

    Preparation

    • Remove the two screws holding the dummy cover in place, and pull the dummy cover off to expose the wire connections. You'll find the dummy cover located on the top of the handle.

    Connections

    • You should connect the plugs from the work light's power box to the connectors accessed under the dummy cover, and replace the two screws to hold the light's power box in place.

    Light Installation

    • Slide the plastic blade guard down to remove the four screws holding the black, plastic stopper in place. Remove the stopper, and plug the light assembly into the plug beneath the stopper. You can mount the light by replacing the four screws.
