Unplug the saw from the wall outlet, and lift the blade guard to its full upright position. This grants full access to the saw blade.
Remove the dado insert plate by unscrewing the two Phillips head screws holding it in place. Put the plate and screws aside for reinstallation later. As you look down into the saw, you will see the arbor nut located on the end of the blade shaft.
Turn the handwheel clockwise to raise the blade to the highest level. The handwheel is located on the front of the saw base beneath the saw table.
Place the wood block in front of the blade. Rotate the blade forward until the teeth begin digging into the wood.
Slip the end of the arbor wrench over the arbor nut. Turn the nut in a counterclockwise direction until it is free of the shaft.
Remove the arbor nut and blade collar. Set them aside as well for reinstallation later.
Slide the old blade off the blade shaft, and replace it with the new blade. The teeth of the new blade must face forward.
Slide the arbor collar back onto the blade shaft, and attach the arbor nut to the treaded end. Hand-tighten the nut a few turns to be sure that it does not fall off.
Move the wooden block to the rear of the blade. Use the arbor wrench to tighten the arbor nut by turning it in a clockwise direction. Tighten it firmly. The wooden block will prevent the blade from moving while you do this.
Reinstall the dado insert. Your new saw blade is properly installed and ready to go to work.
