Instructions for a Ryobi Miter Saw

The Ryobi product line includes drills, planers, air tools, chargers and saws. A miter saw is an invaluable tool for creating accents to walls and the rooms in your home. Ryobi miter saws are used by homeowners and contractors to cut different angles and bevels on trim, baseboards and crown molding.

Instructions

    • 1

Align the raised rib that is on the battery pack with the groove on the inside of the miter saw, and snap the latches into place to connect the battery pack.

    • 2

Pull the lock pin out and lift the saw arm to its full height to perform a crosscut. Lift the miter table clamp and rotate the miter table. Align the pointer with the angle you wish to use and push the miter table back down.

    • 3

Position the trim or piece of work flat along the miter table with one edge flush against the fence. Grab the handle of the saw, press the "lock off" button and slowly squeeze the trigger.

    • 4

Slowly lower the blade through the workpiece. Release the trigger and let the blade stop spinning before you pull it out of the wood.

    • 5

Lift the miter table clamp, then rotate the miter table until the pointer on the scale is aligned with zero to achieve a bevel cut. Push the miter table clamp down once they are aligned.

    • 6

Move the saw arm to the left of the angle you have chosen after you loosen the bevel lock knob. Place the work flat on the miter table with one edge firmly against the fence. Lower the blade in the same manner as with a crosscut.

    • 7

Adjust the miter angle and bevel angle at the same time to achieve a compound miter cut. Compound cuts may be used for certain roof slopes, picture frames or other projects with sloped sides.

    • 8

Experiment with different angles to find the one you like for a compound cut as each time you move the miter angle, the bevel angle also moves.
