Instructions

    • 1

Read the Makita table saw instructions carefully before using the saw.

    • 2

Install the table saw blade. The Makita table saw is shipped with both the saw blade and the blade guard not installed. You will have to install both. To install the saw blade, first remove the table insert on the table. Hold the outer flange with the offset wrench and loosen the hex nut by turning it counterclockwise with a wrench. Take off the outer flange. Slip the inner flange, blade, outer flange and hex nut onto the arbor. Hold the outer flange with the offset wrench and tighten the hex nut by turning it clockwise with your wrench.

    • 3

Install the blade guard. Before you begin, first adjust the depth of cut to its maximum elevation. Set the spreader between the pressure plate and the blade guard mount. Tighten the hex bolts with the offset wrench. The spreader installing location is factory-adjusted so the blade and spreader will be aligned. There should be clearance between the spreader and blade teeth of about 4-5 mm. Adjust the spreader accordingly and tighten the hex bolts with the offset wrench.

    • 4

Position your saw table in a well lit area that is free of clutter and within easy access of an electrical outlet. Use a screwdriver to mount the saw to your work bench with four screws

    • 5

Adjust the depth for your cut by turning the handle handle clockwise to raise the blade or counterclockwise to lower it. Also adjust the bevel angle by loosening the lock lever counterclockwise and turning the hand wheel to the angle you need. The bevel angle, which ranges from 0 degrees to 45 degrees angle is indicated by the arrow pointer. Tighten the lock lever clockwise to secure the adjustment once you have the angle you need.

    • 6

Adjust the positive stops by placing a triangular rule on the table and check to see if
the blade is at 90 degrees or 45 degrees to the table surface. If it is not, turn the adjusting screws until it is.

    • 7

Raise the grip of the rip fence and install the rip fence on the table so the fence holder engages with the guide rail. Secure the rip fence by lowering the grip.

    • 8

Insert key on the switch. To start the tool, first push the switch lever. While pushing the switch lever in, pull its lower portion toward you. Always remove the key when the saw is not in use.
