Prepare a well-ventilated space if working indoors. Open all windows and remove objects that you do not intend to blast.
Wear coveralls or long sleeves that completely protect your skin from stray sand. Also where a pair of thick gloves. A respirator hood is recommended if available.
Refer to the user manual or device label to close all valves on the sandblaster. Fill the tank with silica sand using a plastic funnel. These supplies are available through hardware and home improvement stores.
Open the main air valve to allow the compressor to pressurize. Open the sand air valve once the main valve has reached a minimum pressure of 40 PSI.
Point the blaster nozzle at your target. Open the valve near the tip to begin sandblasting. Start with one area and move across the surface using a controlled, sweeping motion.
Gradually increase pressure using the main air valve if necessary to complete the task. It is adjustable up to a recommended pressure of 100 PSI.
