How to Set the Ryobi Jigsaw Laser

In addition to manufacturing hand-held power drills and gas-powered lawn equipment, Ryobi also makes many different types of power saws, one of which is the Ryobi jigsaw. It is designed for cutting tight curves in wood or thin pieces of metal and uses a thin reciprocating blade centered between two guides on its base. The Ryobi jigsaw also comes equipped with a laser that is very useful when making precision cuts, such as tight curves. You should adjust the laser before using the saw.

Instructions

    • 1

Draw a line on a piece of scrap wood running parallel to the base of the jigsaw.

    • 2

Unplug your Ryobi jigsaw and turn on the laser sight power switch on the side of the saw.

    • 3

Use a screwdriver to turn the laser adjustment screw, located next to the laser power switch, 1/2-turn to the right if the laser point falls on the left-hand side of the drawn line. Turn the laser adjustment screw 1/2-turn to the the left if it falls to the right. Do this until the laser point is directly in the center of the line.

Plug in the saw and test the sights by cutting the piece of wood. If it is still slightly off, unplug your Ryobi and readjust the laser sights.
