Operating Directions for a Delta Belt Sander

Delta has been a household name in the tool industry for decades, and its belt sanders are a testament to the company's longevity. There are many different delta belt sander models available, but they all perform basic sanding functions. The sanding belt automatically sands the desired object on contact. Using a belt sander makes finishing any project much quicker and with half the work.

Instructions

    • 1

Turn the sander on by moving the "On" switch to the "Up" position. The power switch is located on the sander's base.

    • 2

Place the sanding arm in the horizontal position. Use the table -- the plastic work surface for positioning the work piece at the front of the belt -- to help keep it secure.

    • 3

Grip the work piece securely and keep your fingers away from the belt.

    • 4

Place the end of the work piece against the table and begin to move it evenly across the sanding belt.

    • 5

Apply only enough pressure to let the sander remove the material needed. Putting more pressure than needed on the work piece may sand off too much material.
