Start with one section of wall at a time, and spray the logs with a garden hose to remove any debris. Start from the top and work your way down to the lowest logs.
Dilute 1 part bleach with 4 parts water and add this solution to a garden sprayer.
Spray down the logs with the bleach solution and keep adding more of the bleach solution so that the logs stay wet for 20 minutes. This will open the pores of the wood, and ensure that the logs are clean.
Use a high-powered sprayer to spray down the logs with water. The washer should be set no higher than 500 pounds per square inch, and should be kept at a distance of around 5 feet from the logs. Otherwise you may risk damaging the logs.
Wait 72 hours and make sure the logs are dry before moving on to the next step.
Follow the factory directions to mix up enough stain for the stain you are using. Use a white china paint brush to apply the stain to the logs.
Wait 48 hours for the stain to dry.
Add a bead of caulk around the seams of the logs, and cover the logs with a second coat of stain.
