Remove the old cabinet doors by finding the hinges and removing the screws that hold the doors to the frame. Then remove the hinges from the doors. Use a cordless screwdriver set on reverse. Remove all the hardware and place it in a bag.
If the new doors are unfinished or you will be painting, sand the doors and frames with a fine grade of sandpaper. If you are painting, prime everything first, let it dry and then paint it with the color of your choice. If you are staining, stain the wood with at least one coat, and let it dry. Rough up the finish lightly with fine sandpaper. Apply one coat of polyurethane. Let this dry.
Attach the new hinges to the cabinet doors with a cordless screwdriver. Make sure you set the screwdriver back to the regular direction.
To hang the doors on the cabinet faces, start by holding the door in place and lining up the hinges. Insert the top screw through the hole on the hinge and tighten it. Insert the bottom screw and tighten it. Repeat with the second hinge and move to the next door.
Check the doors with a level. All the doors on the cabinet frame will need to be level with each other, both on the top and the bottom. If one is off of level, tighten or loosen the hinge screws until you get a level reading.
Place the door knobs or pulls over the pre-drilled holes. If there are no holes, you will need to first place the pull to mark its position, then drill out the hole for the screw. Attach the pull with your cordless screwdriver.
