Joint and plane the boards that you will make into the door panels. Flatten the bottoms of the boards on a jointer and then run them through planer until you have made them into the desired thickness. Run them on edge over the jointer to create perfectly straight and square edges.
Put a row of bar clamps down on a flat workbench. Space the clamps 12 inches apart. A bar clamp consists of a 3/4 inch diameter steel bar with an sliding jaw at one end and a jaw with a rotating handle at the other end. When you place material between the two jaws, slide the sliding one snugly against the edge of the material, then turn the handle on the other jaw to tighten the two together.
Lay enough boards to make a panel that is 1 inch wider than your planned door on top of the clamps.
Stand all but one of the boards on their edges and cover the edges with glue.
Lay the boards back down so that each glued edge presses against the edge of the board next to it. Lay more bar clamps on top of the boards, in between the clamps that are underneath the boards. Clamp the boards together tightly by tightening the jaws of all the bar clamps and leave them to dry for at least two hours. The bar clamps that are positioned on top of the panel help to equalize the pressure with the bar clamps that are positioned underneath the panel, and keep the boards from popping up under pressure.
Take the panel out of the clamps. Cut its ends off using a crosscut sled on a table saw. This attachment allows you to make end cuts that are perpendicular to the side of the panel. Cut both ends to even up the ends of the boards and to make the panel the desired length.
Replace the crosscut sled with a fence and rip the panel to the desired width.
Hand plane the front and back faces of the panel to remove and glue, planer marks or irregularities from the faces of the panel.
Put the panel on edge in a vise and hand plane the edges to remove saw marks.
Finish the panel for the desired look. You can stain it, prime and paint it or finish it with a clear polyurethane for a natural look.
Install two hinges to one side of the panel, three inches from the top and bottom.
Install a pull to the panel by drilling a small pilot hole one inch from edge, inserting the pull's bolt from the back of the panel and screwing the pull onto the bolt.
