How to Program Liftmaster Commercial Remotes

Liftmaster garage door openers come in two different classes: residential and commercial. Residential openers indicate a line that open doors up to 10-feet tall. Commercial openers are usually found on garage doors over 10-feet tall. Homeowners with garages for larger boats and even motorhomes usually will have a commercial opener. Programming remotes for a Liftmaster commercial opener is similar to programming those in their residential line. Ensure that you purchase remotes compatible with your opener from an authorized Liftmaster dealer.

Instructions

    • 1

Position a step ladder under the Liftmaster commercial garage door opener motor. If it is necessary to use an extension ladder due to the height of the opener, position the tip of the extension ladder across a secure beam. Do not rest the ladder against the opener. Ask a helper to hold the bottom of the ladder as you climb to the motor.
