How to Hook Up Auto Door Operators With ADA Buttons

In 1990, President George H.W. Bush signed the Americans with Disabilities Act into law. This law has a vast scope intended to protect those with disabilities from discrimination. It covers many different categories, including doors. Doors with auto operators give easy access to the disabled who otherwise could not open them. Usually either motion sensors or push buttons operate the doors. The LCN Senior Swing 2800 series is one of the most commonly used ADA auto operators.

Insert the black wire into the second AC/DC connector and use a flathead screwdriver to tighten the set screw. Insert the gray wire into the COM connector and tighten the set screw, then insert the yellow wire into the N.O. connector and tighten the set screw.

Remove the cover plate from the auto operator control box, using the Phillips screwdriver. Find the logic board in the control box.

Insert the white, black, gray and yellow wires into the connector labeled P6 on the logic board. Tighten the set screw with the flathead screwdriver.

Press the "learn" button on the receiver and hold it down. Depress the push button multiple times until the blue light on the receiver illuminates. Once it illuminates, you have created the connection.
