Casement Window Leaks

Casement windows are easily identified by their window cranks. When the crank is operated, the window opens or closes from one side only. To guard against water leaks, a piece of weatherstripping is installed within the window frame. Over time, this weatherstripping tends to crack and cause water to leak into the home. For this reason, the weatherstripping should be inspected for cracks about once a year. New weatherstripping is relatively inexpensive and straightforward to install.
