How to Repair Tears in a Screen Door

Screen doors are liable to get some tears or holes in them due to rough use, particularly from small children and pets. Kids run into them and cats like to scratch at them. However, you do not need to go to the expense of replacing the entire screen if you just have a few tears. A screen patch works well to fix the screen and will stay in place while keeping bugs out for a long time.

Instructions

    • 1

Cut the screen patch so it is just slightly larger than the rip or hole. Ensure the patch has a similar shape so it blends in nicely to the screen.

    • 2

Peel the sticky back off the patch.

    • 3

Press the patch so it covers the entire rip or hole. Align it properly before sticking it to the original screen so it doesn't lose its stickiness if you pull it off and readjust it.
